Community Liaison Officer's Update

As always, Stuart has spent considerable time following up routine community concerns and more urgent incidents. Yet despite his efforts to gather evidence, meaningful progress can sometimes feel difficult to achieve.

Kent Police regularly encourage residents to report incidents. Stuart fully supports that message and continues to encourage residents to report matters themselves whenever possible. However, one challenge he has encountered is that information gathered through his own work does not always appear to carry the same weight as reports submitted directly by members of the public.

There are also occasions where evidence of offences has already been gathered, yet the preferred policing approach is to build a wider operational picture before taking enforcement action. While there may be sound operational reasons for this, it can understandably be frustrating for residents keen to see swift action.

If you witness crime or anti-social behaviour, please continue to report it directly to the Police. Every report helps build the evidence needed to address the issues affecting our community.

They operate a system whereby fairgoers purchase wristbands for £6 which allows free entry to most rides for two hours. More information will be advertised nearer the time.
