Community Liaison Officer's Update
A Community Safety Surgery will be held on 28th May at the Heart of Headcorn (1.30–3pm) - all are welcome to attend.
It’s been a busy month, with numerous requests for CCTV footage supporting incidents such as road collisions, anti-social behaviour and ongoing police investigations. Following a year of use, a review of camera locations is underway to improve coverage.
Work continues with Golding Homes’ Neighbourhood Advisor, and a potential planning/PROW matter is also being looked into. Stuart will also be attending the May Fair next Monday.
As we head into summer, Stuart asks that everyone is cautious of rogue traders and doorstep sellers - residents are advised not to purchase from cold callers. Additional signage will be installed around the village.
Finally, if you witness problematic motorbikes or catapult activity, please report it via 999. Prompt reporting helps the police respond effectively and reduce these incidents.
Need to reach Stuart? You can contact him by email: communityliaison@headcornpc.org.uk

Annual Meeting of the Parish
Many thanks to all of you who attended the Annual Meeting of the Parish. It was an excellent opportunity to hear from many of the community’s clubs and societies and all they have achieved this year. We took the opportunity to thank Martin Round for doing such a great job as Mayor of Maidstone this year, continuing to put Headcorn high on his priority list whilst busy with his Mayoral duties.

Walking Rugby
Next month there will be a trial of Walking Rugby held at Parsonage Meadow. It will be on Saturday 20th June between 4pm and 6pm. It is free to come and have a go. If this proves successful then a regular walking rugby club may be opened in the village in future.

Want to help tackle speeding in the village?
Our small team of Speedwatch volunteers is looking for a few more people to get involved. If speeding traffic is something that concerns you, this is a simple way to make a difference.
As Kent Police highlighted at the Annual Parish Meeting, regular logging of speeding vehicles can lead to action being taken.
You only need to give around an hour at a time, and full support is provided.
If you’re able to help, please get in touch with the Clerks.

Award-winning Displays?
This year’s hanging baskets are due to be installed later this month and we hope that the hard work of our lengthsmen team will be rewarded later in the summer with recognition at the South East in Bloom competition. Once the displays are fully established we can submit our detailed entires.

CCTV Expansion
We have now expanded the village CCTV network which provides wider coverage and some additional features such as ANPR recognition. Should you need help with the sourcing evidence of a crime in the community please do get in touch.
Our aim is to provide the community with the best means possible to record crime that can be used to support Kent Police.

Music in the Meadow in June
Please join us for our next exciting event at Parsonage Meadow for all the family! Music in the Meadow coincides with Maidstone’s Big Day Out on Saturday 13th June from 3pm until 8.30pm. We have bands booked and food trucks planning their menus, so please make sure you come along and join in the fun.
