Community Liaison Officer's Update
There was a good turnout at last month’s Community Safety Surgery, answering questions and helping members of the community find sources of help.
Most importantly this month Stuart would like to reiterate the necessity to call 999 if anyone is observing catapults being used. They are dangerous weapons which not only cause damage and distress but can cause serious injury. The culprits will be caught, provided the community helps in providing live reports. Prompt reporting helps the police respond effectively and reduce these incidents.

Spires Ash
After lots of hard work last year to improve and enhance the pond at Spires Ash it is now looking resplendent with plenty of wildlife visitors to observe.

Walking Rugby
This month there will be a trial of Walking Rugby held at Parsonage Meadow. It will be on Saturday 20th June between 4pm and 6pm. It is free to come and have a go. If this proves successful then a regular walking rugby club may be opened in the village in future.

Award-winning displays?
This year’s hanging baskets have now been installed and we hope that the ongoing hard work of our lengthsmen team will again be rewarded later in the summer with recognition at the South East in Bloom competition. Once the displays are fully established we can submit our detailed entires.

Music in the Meadow
Please join us for our next exciting event at Parsonage Meadow for all the family! Music in the Meadow coincides with Maidstone’s Big Day Out on Saturday 13th June from 3pm until 8.30pm. We have bands booked, The White Horse organising the bar and food trucks planning their menus, so please make sure you come along and join in the fun.

Playground Improvements
After a frustratingly long wait for parts there are now two new slides installed at the playground on Day’s Green. We very much hope everyone is already making good use of them!

Parish Office Refurbishment
A much-needed refurbishment of our Parish Office is currently under way, with completion expected in the next day or so. It will provide more efficient use of the working space for the Clerks whilst also providing a dedicated area for visitors to meet with us.
