Community Liaison Officer's Update
Stuart continues to work with agency partners to support the community in resolving issues which might be either urgent or long term. If there is any matter you feel you need help with please come along to the next Community Surgery at the Heart of Headcorn on 29th October, from 1.30pm until 3pm.
Meantime there is a new ‘Coffee and Chat’ gathering at Headcorn Library today (1st October) from 9am.
Everyone is welcome to come along and meet members of our community. If popular it is hoped that this will become a monthly event. If you have missed this one just let Stuart know you’d be interested in future events.

We Still Need Help!
We are still looking for some volunteers to assist as marshalls on Remembrance Sunday parade in the village. If you will be able to support this event on Sunday 8th November please get in touch.

Take part in your street's consultation
This month we have issued a number of consultations in support of our Highways Improvement Plan. This will provide crucial evidence to argue for improvements where they are needed. The streets concerned are: Forge Meadows, Knaves Acre, Smarden Road, Smith Way and the High Street near Bake My Day. The consultation for Sharp’s Field has already been completed. If you live in one of these streets and have not received a consultation document please contact the Clerk’s office. Please encourage your neighbours in these areas to also participate. The closing date is 20 November.

Save the Date!
The annual Christmas lights switch on will take place on 28th November. We will be taking part in St Peter & St Paul’s Christmas Market that day with our charity stall, so please make a note of the date and join in all of the activities!

Jason & Maxine win GOLD!
As you may have read in the newsletter, we are absolutely delighted to congratulate Jason and Maxine for their extraordinary work in making our village look beautiful. With three awards in the 2026 South & South East In Bloom this year, including Gold for the Parishes Category it is public validation for the skill and hard work they invest in our community. They have ambitions to enhance more areas and learn from other winners how they might further improve Headcorn’s open spaces. On behalf of the whole Parish Council, and the community we serve, we would like to thank them for their hard work and dedication.

Meet your new Councillor
We are delighted to welcome Charmian Beaton as our new Parish Councillor. Many of you will know she is a multi award-winning handmade jewellery designer based on Headcorn High Street. Chari hopes to focus her attention on the role of the High Street and what might be possible to protect, enhance and support it. You can contact her or any of our councillors using this link:
