Community Liaison Officer's Update

This month Stuart asks if anyone would like a free No Cold Calling sticker to display at their home.  Whilst we have community-wide notices some parishioners might feel a more explicit notice is required.  Just get in touch with Stuart and he can provide one for you.

Meantime, as usual, Stuart is incredibly busy attending to regular and not so regular matters to help and protect everyone in our community.

Need to reach Stuart? You can contact him by email: communityliaison@headcornpc.org.uk

South & South East in Bloom

Judging for this year’s South & South East in Bloom competition is imminent! Judges will visit the village on 7th July and we very much hope our Lengthsman team’s hard work will be rewarded once again!

Music in the Meadow

We would like to thank everyone for supporting last month’s Music in the Meadow event in such large numbers! We were blessed with glorious weather and fantastic entertainment. We would like to thank everyone involved, the performers, the food trucks, The White Horse who ran the bar and particularly to Rob Baldock and Andy Barkess who stepped in to help when the sound issues arose. We have received some wonderful feedback saying how much this kind of community gathering was enjoyed, so we will endeavour to repeat it when we can.

Community Charity Support

Last year Headcorn Parish Council’s Charity of the Year was Veteran’s Operating Base and we’re pleased to report that over the 12 month period a sum of £2,520 was raised to help them. This was raised through a combination of general fundraising, a HPC donation and James Mitchell (Jo’s husband) running a Half Marathon to support them.

This year we are supporting Headcorn’s Girlguiding Groups (Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers) which are entirely self-funded. We hope that our support might help them achieve their fundraising aims next year.

Parish Office Refurbishment

A much-needed refurbishment of our Parish Office is now complete! It provides more efficient use of the working space for the Clerks whilst also giving space for visitors to meet with us.
