Community Liaison Officer's Update
Stuart is delighted to report that after months of planning by HPC the new CCTV cameras are now installed and fully operational. There will be nineteen dotted around the village, including the High Street, Hoggs Bridge Green and Spires Ash. Some have replaced old cameras and others are in new areas.
These cameras will enable HPC to share evidence directly with Kent Police as necessary.

Our Neighbourhood Plan
After so long in development we are delighted to confirm that MBC has now approved Headcorn’s Neighbourhood Plan. That means that it now moves to the final referendum stage (organised by Maidstone Borough Council) which is likely to be in early June. Please look out for details as it is helpful to everyone if you can take part in this vote. The finalisation of our Neighbourhood Plan will mean that we have access to significantly more CIL funds for infrastructure-based projects, which will be managed by HPC.

May Fair
Headcorn Parish Council will, as usual, be supporting the PTFA May Fair on Day’s Green on 5th May. We’ll have some activities on our stand to entertain you plus this will be a good opportunity to meet more of you. So please make a note to call by and say hello.

Annual Meeting of the Parish
Headcorn Parish Council hosted the Annual Meeting of the Parish last month. This was again well-attended and was a great opportunity to learn more about many of the community’s Clubs and Societies.

Freedom of Headcorn Award
HPC will hold its AGM on Wednesday 14th May, when the officers of the Council will be elected. After that has been concluded there will be a short ceremony to award the first two recipients of the Freedom of Headcorn Award. The award has been designed and crafted by village jewellery designer Charmian Beaton. Everyone is welcome to attend.

VE Day Ceremony
Please join us to mark the VE Day 80th Ceremony on 8th May with a service and lighting of the Beacon from 9pm.

Hoggs Bridge Green
The final stages of improvement to the apron area at Hoggs Bridge Green are now under way and there is also work in progress to prepare the far section for planting of fruit trees later in the year.
